Departments require additional lead-time in order to meet these deadlines.  Please contact your Department Manager for specific information.

  • July 27, 2018
    Fall quarter temporary teaching faculty appointment dossiers due to the Dean’s Office.
  • July 24, 2018
    Candidate requests for extensions to August 24 deadline to submit review materials, with Chair approval, due to the Dean’s Office.
  • August 28, 2018
    Departments should notify the Dean’s Office of any faculty on the CALL who failed to submit their materials.
  • August 30, 2018
    Notices will be sent by the Dean to faculty whose review actions have been deferred due to late submission of materials.
  • September 30, 2018
    Outside Professional Activities (APM 025) individual reports due to Departments. Use CAPM form. Chairs should submit their individual reports to the Dean.

  • November 2, 2018
    Department requests for extensions to December 3 deadline to submit senate merit dossiers due to the Dean’s Office.

    Excellence reviews for Non-Senate Faculty Continuing Status to be effective winter quarter due to the Dean’s Office.

    Department requests for extensions to January 15 deadline to submit senate promotion, mid-career, and above-scale dossiers due to the Dean’s Office.

    Call for reappointments for non-senate academics in research and adjunct titles with 6/30/2020 end dates to be distributed at BSoE Academic Personnel meeting to discuss 2019-20 personnel actions.

    Excellence reviews for Non-Senate Faculty continuing status to be effective fall quarter due to the Dean’s Office.

Notes

  • Non-senate academic personnel actions with effective dates other than July 1 not requiring DCAP, or CAP review are due to the Dean’s Office at least six weeks prior to effective date.
  • Courtesy appointment dossiers are due to the Dean’s Office at least two weeks prior to effective date.
  • Non-senate academic personnel actions, including courtesy appointments, for foreign scholars needing a new J-1 visa with effective dates other than July 1 not requiring DCAP, or CAP review are due to the Dean’s Office at least twelve weeks prior to the effective date.  Actions for foreign scholars needing a J-1 transfer in or J-1 extension, are due to the Dean's Office at least eight weeks prior to the effective date.  Unless there are special circumstances and arrangements made, scholars should be told to expect their appointment offers and visa documents to be sent via FedEx no later than six weeks prior to the effective date of their appointment.   • H1-B Visa processing should begin eight to nine months prior to effective date and submitted to the Dean's Office with adequate time for the request to arrive in ISSS six months in advance of the effective date.
  • *Excellence Reviews for NSF Continuing Status are conducted during the academic year in which the 18th quarter of service occurs and should be completed prior to the commencement of the 19th quarter.  Deadlines for each quarter are listed above.
